the motor for repair to the motor plate and the #55 car back out on
the track to run the Main Event. Sunday night the iceman once again
melted the competition, winning the Trophy dash, winning the Fast
Heat, and placing 2nd in the Main Event from a 5th row starting position!

* Daffodil Cup *
With a "Strawberry Cup" win under his belt, Jeff's fans and sponsors
were hoping for a repeat performance against the NSRA cars on his
home-track. Jeff had lots of publicity leading up to the race - a
spot on Check TV's Noon News, as well as a great article in the Victoria
newspaper. Too bad about that rain!
Sunday September 5, 2004
Western Speedway, Victoria
BC Canada
#55 Jeff Bird won the Trophy Dash! In the Fast Heat a flat tire could
have easily been the end for that race, but with just 2 laps to go
Jeff held on and finished in 2nd place! The bent rim was hammered
back into form and the crew refilled the tire with air right before
the Main Event. Jeff started in the 5th row back. A hard battle throughout
the Main put Jeff into 2nd place!
