Driving the #51 for the Aggressive team: Top finishing Northwest car!

SEPTEMBER 19, 2009 - VICTORIA BC - WESTERN SPEEDWAY
Out on the track for qualifying, Jeff got his first timed lap in at 14.085 and
was on his way to fast time on his 2nd lap when another sprint car was pushed off in front of him
and caused him to step on the brake to avoid a collision! So he settled for 2nd quick at 14.085.

Trophy Dash WINNER! The car was hooked up really well and Jeff picked up the trophy!

In the Main Event the brake was binding and flames could be seen coming out from under the car on every lap through turn 1.
Although the driver wanted more speed, it's pretty hard to go faster when the car is putting on the brakes. :)
The #92 finished in 6th place.

but still on a high note from the rest of the weekend!

AUGUST 29, 2009 - VICTORIA BC - WESTERN SPEEDWAY

One-year from when Jeff's good friend Dan Fisher was killed in his raceboat on Shawnigan Lake, Jeff gives it his all on the track and gets fast time (14.09) and wins his heat race. Starting from the back in the Main Event, he made it up to 4th place before another car had mechanical issues, veered across the track and caused Jeff to hit the front stretch wall hard. The #92 was done for the night.

AUGUST 14 & 15, 2009 - VICTORIA BC - WESTERN SPEEDWAY DOUBLE HEADER
DAFFODIL CUP ~ $40,000 PURSE MONEY

Friday night: 25 Sprint cars showed up from all over the north-western United States, Alberta, and BC! This was a very big weekend for Sprint car drivers, car owners, the NSRA club, and Western Speedway.

Jeff's good friend Cam McLean (#26) did well in his Heat Race which earned him a great starting spot for Saturday's Main Event.

Against many high-powered NSRA cars, Jeff qualified 6th quick in the #92.

Despite some set-up changes, there were a couple of mishaps with the equipment
and the car wasn't handling all that well in the Heat race. It made for a challenging mid-pack position for night #2!

Saturday's driver line-up on the front stretch for the singing of both national anthems.

Jeff drove the #92 car aggressively, and smart;
passing 11 cars, he definitely deserves the hard charger award!
From starting 14th, Jeff moved up through the huge field of cars in the 45 lap Main Event to finish 3rd!

AUGUST 8, 2009 - PORT ANGELES WASHINGTON

Qualifying was done in 2 groups - Jeff was clocked at 99 miles per hour on the front stretch (of this little track),
got fast-time of his group (13.41 seconds) & 2nd fast-time overall!

With the threat of rain during the trophy dash, the Main Event was moved up and the Heat Race was done last.

AFTER SOME DARING OUTSIDE PASSES #55 WAS THE MAIN EVENT WINNER!

And in the final Heat Race, Jeff decided to light it up, smoking the tires as he slid sideways around the corners. The crowd loved it.

As the announcer put it, "this guy isn't ready to go home yet, he's having way too much fun!"

AUGUST 1, 2009 - EPHRATA WASHINGTON

22 cars, Jeff started at the back after mechanical issues in qualifying and the Heat Race.

NSRA Main Event - Jeff got up as far as 5th place, and eventually finished 11th.
Not bad for a Wilroc cast iron motor up against NSRA power!

JULY 17 & 18, 2009 - VICTORIA BC - WESTERN SPEEDWAY DOUBLE HEADER

Friday night: Jeff was driving the #92 car for the first time and WON the HEAT RACE and got 2nd in the MAIN EVENT!

Saturday night: Jeff qualified FAST TIME and got another awesome 2nd place finish in the MAIN EVENT!

 

A duck as their lucky charm and a Bird as their driver.....a winning combination for the 92 team. :)

The left rear was flat by the last lap, and Jeff still managed to hold it for a 2nd place finish!

JULY 4, 2009 - VICTORIA BC - WESTERN SPEEDWAY

20 year old Rory Smith was the #55's driver that night! Well done Rory!

MAY 16, 2009 - OLYMPIA WASHINGTON - WINGLESS RACE

Qualified "really" fast time with 13.9 (2nd quick: 14.3)!

2nd in Heat Race

3rd in the Main Event after black flagged and a re-start from the back! Jeff gave away his trophy to a deserving fan. :)
